Hello readers and fellow Dota enthusiasts!
The past few months or so I’ve been following through on a keen interest of mine that has (for a while) been something I’d love to do – forming, investing in and managing a UK-based esports organisation.
Naturally, this adds in amongst a mass of already well-established orgs, and as a fresh-faced entity with limited (as yet) publicity, we’d like to introduce ourselves.
So, best to place some introductions ey…
Into The Breach Esports is a U.K. based esports organisation which is currently focused solely on Dota 2. It is formed by me (Sam), and is guided by two very simple aims:
(1) Support the growth of UK Dota and increase its prominence in the scene
(2) Platform the work of mental health and inclusivity charities, trying to promote an overarching ‘good’ in a community which means so much to us
What does this mean, you ask? Well, with respect to one, this means facilitating the progression of a UK-based professional team, assisting them with strategy, development, branding, structure and professionalism. You can find more about how we support our players here. We are also in process of developing our ITB Academy, a free service for UK-based lower MMR players who can be unified in a common aim to hone their kills and participate in a team environment – with the structure and mentality of a professional organisation to boot. You can find out more about this here.
With respect to two, this means continually promoting the work of our partnered charity checkpoint.org, as well as cycling any profits either back into the organisation or as donations to verified charities. Moreover, in our planned series entitled ITB Interviews, I’m aiming to put my humanities degree to use and output content related to all things UK Dota, but also on key issues in gaming such as mental health awareness, diversity in gaming and inclusivity for female gamers. Gamers are only going to represent a wider and wider demographic throughout the world, and we believe its vital that new and current esports organisations are run with strong principles.
Ultimately, we want to develop our players abilities and (in cliché) have fun along the way, all the while adhering to the two foundational principles outlined above.
We’re outlining a number of announcements in the coming few days and weeks – so comes the mandatory ‘like, follow and subbers’, though in this case just follow our twitter.
We’re also still on the look-out for a number of roles, including content generators, social media managers and team analysts. If this sounds like you or you’d just like to know more – please reach out at intothebreachgg@gmail.com or add me on discord SamMacedonio#6668.
Best,
ITBSam
