With the New Year passing, we at ITB wanted to reaffirm our commitment to R6S and our roster. We have full faith in their ability to grow as a team, and we want to do what we can to facilitate their performance and offer stability.
For that reason, we're happy to announce that we've now signed longer-term contracts heading not just into the upcoming UKIN Season, but future seasons too. Our captain Josh 'Nerf' Frost also had a few words:
"I'm delighted to be signing with ITB for the upcoming UKIN2 season and beyond, as we'll be looking to qualify for UKIN and push for the CL spot this year. They've been nothing but supportive and its great to have the backing of an org you can really trust. I'm looking forward to showing everyone our potential soon".
Alongside this, we wanted to highlight some plans we have for 2022 - primarily focused on our aims to be community orientated and do good for the scene not just by fielding a roster, but supporting the community as a whole. To this end, we're happy to announce the following:
Maintaining Blainey's role as Community Lead for R6S, and creating a monthly budget for him to create initiatives and activities to help the scene grow.
Creation of a £500 tournament specifically for grass-root and upcoming UK teams, with additional gear from CoolerMaster to be won for fan-nominated MVPs. We'll run several of these throughout the year, with the first in between UKIN seasons. These tournaments will also be streamed, giving paid casting opportunities for those trying to build up experience and break into the scene.
Establishing our 'highlight' of the month - someone in the R6S UK scene who we believe deserves more recognition for their talent as a player, caster or community representative. We'll create a dedicated monthly tweet to raise awareness of what they do and encourage our fans to follow them.
Looking into avenues to bring the ITB Academy initiative (https://www.itb-esports.com/academy) into R6S.
